My license was suspended and I want to ask for it back.  Do I need to hire a lawyer?
Anytime you are facing the possibility of losing your license, it is important to seek advice from an attorney with experience handling traffic violations in your state.  If your license has already been suspended, you may be able to petition to get it back.  However, you will need help from a lawyer.  Unfortunately, in Indiana, there is no simple form to fill out to request to get your license back.  A lawyer with knowledge and experience in Indiana traffic law can draft a persuasive petition for reinstatement on your behalf.

Does a lifetime suspension really mean I can never drive again?
Not necessarily.  After a certain amount of time has passed since your license was suspended, you may petition to have it reinstated, with the help of an attorney.  We can run your record, identify your options, and determine when you will be eligible for reinstatement.  Generally, if the suspension is "for life," you can petition to get your license back after ten years.

What happens if I'm arrested for driving as a Habitual Traffic Violator (HTV)?
If you have been classified as a HTV and you are caught driving, you can be charged with a felony.  If your license was suspended for life and you drove anyway, it is a Class C Felony, which is punishable by two to eight years of imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000.  If your license was suspended for five or ten years and you drove anyway, it is a Class D Felony and your suspension will turn into a lifetime suspension.  A Class D Felony is punishable by six months to three years of imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000.
