DUI Overview

Impaired Driving Offenses

Under the Indiana Code, it is a Class C Misdemeanor to operate a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 to .15 grams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood or 210 liters of breath.  Penalties for Class C Misdemeanors can include up to 60 days in prison and a fine of up to $500. 

Driving with a BAC of .15 grams or more of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood or 210 liters of breath is a Class A Misdemeanor, which carries a penalty of up to one year in prison and a fine of up to $500. 

Note that Indiana law also makes it a Class A Misdemeanor to endanger anyone (including yourself) while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Commercial Drivers

First Offense or Multiple Offenses
